Dental Insurance Benefits
Most dental plans offer preventive care (cleanings, exams, x-rays) at little or no cost. Many plans also cover basic procedures like fillings and extractions, plus major services like crowns and root canals.
Important: If you've had a PPO dental plan in the prior 12 months, most carriers will waive the 12-month wait for major services. Always confirm with your dentist which plans they accept.
Vision Insurance Benefits
Vision plans typically cover annual eye exams, prescription glasses or contacts, and discounts on LASIK surgery. Regular eye exams can detect serious health conditions early, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and glaucoma.
Many dental carriers also offer vision coverage, making it convenient to bundle your benefits and save money.

Important Notes About Dental Coverage
- PPO Plan Waiver: If you've had a PPO dental insurance plan during the prior 12 months, most companies will waive the 12-month wait for major dental services. This does not apply to discount dental plans.
- National Care Dental does not waive the 12-month wait for major dental.
- Provider Acceptance: Always confirm with your dentist which insurance plans they will accept. If they say none or don't include the plan you want, ask if they will bill for a PPO plan. Many of these plans offer out-of-network coverage so they will pay something if not most of the cost toward your care, and the dental office will bill them on your behalf.
